Publication date: January 21st 2015

Tour Schedule:

Synopsis:

Country music hopeful, Kennedy Masters is a leap-before-you-look type of woman. Live in the moment, the here and now. That’s her policy – anything other than that is boring, and she’s never been particularly interested in boring. So, when she makes the erratic decision to join country music’s reigning star, Mick Callahan, on his tour bus after a show, she’s just living right up to her life’s motto.

The only problem?
Her snap decision making lands her on the front page news and it’s for less than desirable reasons. Even worse is the fact that Mick decides she’s his next conquest, erratically announcing to the public that they’re engaged.

Her only option?
Hiding out at the Callahan Ranch until the storm blows over – a decision that she’s not altogether pleased with, but one that she must follow considering the circumstances. When unexpected sparks fly upon meeting Mick’s mysterious older brother, Griff Callahan, Kennedy’s left sorting through matters of the heart – something that’s not exactly her forte.

And her career?
Well, it’s been labeled TBD.

Kennedy must figure out a way to deal with her heart and her career, all while fighting her own feelings and fending off someone else’s.

Review:

**Disclaimer: I received this book via Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for an honest review. Any thoughts and opinions are my own.**

Love Strung is written like any good country song. There are sexy women, hunky men, and lots of heartache to go around. The writing in this book flows just as easily as a song, too. I had a hard time putting it down once I got started. Kennedy, an aspiring singer, is not where she thought she would be in her music career. Sure, she's got a manager and is signed to a label but not much else. And that's why she takes the first gig that comes along and ends up working as a backup singer for Mick Callahan, a country music superstar and serial heart-breaker. Kennedy is trying to live in the here and now and which lands her in some trouble when she ends up hungover and naked in Mick's bed.

Here comes Mick's brother, Griff, to clean up the mess Mick has left behind, which includes Kennedy. One look at her and Griff decides that he has to protect her from Mick at all costs. Mick and Kennedy are both impulsive and try to live life one minute at a time, which I think is something they both developed after they both lost their mothers. They also both have siblings that they love but have issues with him. Once their impulsive natures have thrown them into a whirlwind mess that they're trying to figure a way out of, they both realize that it's time to grow up and really go after what you want. For Kennedy, that just might be Griff.

There are a lot of obstacles that these characters have to climb over in order to get to their happy ending but they are all very well written and well worth the aggravation and heartbreak. You can easily see Kennedy and Mick changing as the book progresses. For the first half of the book I was ready to slap Mick and stick him in a corner somewhere for a time-out but he really redeems himself in the end. My favorite part about this book was the reminder that family is, and should always be, the most important thing in a person's life and everyone deserves a second chance. Redemption always makes for a great country song. And like any good song, this book was stuck in my head long after I finished it. Jamie W. Matlock has earned herself a new fan and I look forward to reading more of her work in the future!

AUTHOR BIO

Jamie W. Matlock is the author of The Love Series, which includes Love Aced & Love Strung. Bored with punching a clock and watching dust collect on the frame of her marketing degree, she decided to turn her lifelong hobby into a career and hasn't looked back since.

Known for mixing both humor and drama into her novels, she likes for her readers to experience a gamut of emotions while enjoying one of her stories. She's also a sucker for flawed protagonists, strong male characters and incredible sex scenes, so be on the lookout for all three in each of her novels.

Outside of writing, you can find her spending time with her family, yelling at a television screen during sporting events, nursing her coffee addiction and coupling a good book with a glass of wine.
